We have already played 2 matches – against Sutton Highfield and Hornsey (both away).
Sutton Highfield
We played at Sutton Highfield on May 11th and were given a stiff challenge on what was a very warm afternoon. Although we won 4-1, no match was a walkover – indeed, the biggest defeat was the one we lost. After the match, they entertained us royally, as usual, with tea and cake.
Hornsey
We travelled up to Priory Park in North London on May 30th to take on Hornsey. They have 4 lanes on 2 end-on terrains on part of the old bowling green. Again, the weather was very warm, and they kept us supplied with both cooling drinks and snacks. We played a full round-robin of timed doubles games, winning 7-5 in games and 118-100 in shots. 3 of our pairs won 2 out 3 games and finished +5 on shots, with our 4th winning 1 out of 3, and finishing +3. Overall, a good trip and we look forward to the return match.
