Since our last update, we have 2 events to tell you about.
Firstly, we held our (now annual) Mark Barlow Day, commemorating our former member, who sadly died in April 2020 after contracting Covid. We again welcomed members of his family and former workmates in a very pleasant day, featuring 7 triples. The winners, although this is not the point of the day, were Phil Alfie and Maryann, who were unbeaten.
On September 17th, we held our Drawn Pairs competition, for which we had tremendous weather. 6 pairs took part and a very exciting finish saw 3 pairs go into the final games on 3 wins out of 4. Of those 3, Ash & Cliff beat Sarah & David R by 13-4, while Robin & David P won their match by 13-2. The upshot was that Ash & Cliff won the competition, with Robin & David P in 2nd place on Shots Difference, while Sarah & David R had to settle for 3rd.
